Images from a remote shoot with Poppyseed dancer
Here are a few images from a remote shoot with Poppyseed Dancer. Poppyseed was in Denmark and I was at home in the UK. The set up for the shoot used a similar format to my other recent posts on remote shooting. (Zoi) and (Riona).
The whole shoot done via the internet. For this particulare shoot the camera we used was a Canon 1DX Mk II. Which mounted on a sturdy tripod held it steady. The camera connected to the laptop via a tethering cable. On the laptop was the Canons EOS Utility 3 software. This software gives you a Live view, of the scene the camera was seeing on the screen. Via which you can then choose a point of focus on your subject via your mouse. You also have a large button which when clicked activates the camera and takes the image. The laptop screen connected via Chrome ‘remote desktop’ to my home PC. So I could see the live view and take the images.
With a seperate voice and video connection using Whatsapp. Which allows you to discuss and direct the model during the session.
The setup for this session worked well. The only one issue was that we lost connection on WhatsApp for a very short while.
Poppyseed had hired an appartement of the shoot. Which gave some good location to shoot in and some nice natural window light for some of the shots. We also used a couple of studio lights for a corridor shot.
Having worked with Poppyseed once before when she was visiting the UK. I knew I would get some great dance and yoga shapes. As you can see from the images below.
Natural light images from the remote shoot with Poppyseed Dancer
These were all shot using the natural light coming in from the window
As you can see Poppy can really create some great dance shapes and poses as she worked on pointe.

Thanks again to Poppyseed and Kelly who assisted with the shoot. More images to come but thought I would share these as a starter.
Interested in what you think.
