Denisa Strakova – NSFW

Denisa Strakova is a fashion and art model based in Czechia. During her recent tour of the UK, I found that she was going to be in the my area. So the chance to work with her was not to be missed. Over the course of the session we shot a range of themes, from fashion to Artist Nude. Below are a selection of the images that we created together. These are well worth a scroll down to the bottom:

Denisa was really great to work with and we created some great expression and shapes. I would certainly want work with her again if the chance arose.

Photography

Natalia and a Curve (NSFW)

These image are from a studio session with Natalia. The studio has a couple of large curves, so for this set we use just the one of the curves. Lighting was a rectangular strip soft box set off the the right hand side of the model and curve. This controlled the light and kept in focused on the model without spilling out onto the background too much.

Yoo Yoo Moods

During a visit to my area by the London based model Yoo Yoo. I arranged to work with the Yohoi in my local studio in Cleckheaton. We created a range of fashion and portrait images using a mixture of studio flash and natural light. I also used some mirrors to create some interesting wall patterns with an arri constant light. Plinth Shapes (NSFW)

Plinth shapes is a set of images that I have put together to demonstrate how you can use a simple prop to create strong Artistic Nude images. These were all lit with a single studio light fitted with a large soft box.

I have been asked a few times about what is a useful prop to use in the studio to help to create strong Artisit Nude images. One of my favourite items to work with is a rectanglar wooden posing block. I have several of these in the studio which I bring out from time to time when I working with my models.

They can be used in various way to give the model something to pose on but the emphasis has to be on them making strong shapes. You can see some more examples of my use of the posing blocks here. In the first set of images in this post I have used the block flat. So the acting as a long plinth shape. The second set of images I have placed the block at an angle. It does require the model to be able to make strong figure shapes with their body. I have also found that it can be
beneficial to just let the model free flow with their posing on the block. It can by very interesting to see how they work on it

Madame Bink 2017 shoot (NSFW)

I have worked with Madame Bink a number of times over the years that I have been shooting models and I have always come away with some great images.

When working with Ivory Flame in January of this year she mentioned that Madame Bink (Bink) was working again, so I took the oppoutunity to set up another shoot with her.

Now the last time we shot together was at the first Walters Warbrode event which was a fashion theme shoot. It was therefore good to get to work with her again specifically in the art nude genre, although we did do some edgy fashion images too.

The sets I wanted to shoot were simple in terms of lighting. These sets were lit with a single studio strobe fitted with a rectanglar soft box. The softbox was also fitted with an egg crate grid to control the light spill, which gives good light and shadow areas on the body.

I chose to use some simple props – two wooden garden chairs and a small wooden table stool. There is a simple white hat with a black band that we added for a few of these shots. So really simple but make strong images I feel.

All that was then needed was the model to make strong Artistic Nude shapes and work into the light.

The results can be seem in the images below. Binky’s strong poses in this light setup stand out and this is one of the reasons I have always liked working with her.
