Emili is a Bristol based model who was visiting Leeds. So I took the opportunity to work with her at my local studio Silkwood. The lighting setups I choose was a simple just using a single studio flash fitted with a rectangular soft box, This was also fitted with a grid to direct the light.

I like deep and moody shadows – shadows that carried tension. So by using a soft but directional light, it allowed me to keep the environment honest, and draw the eye to expression, posture, and intent.

Lighting for the images below was a gridded large octa placed in front and to the left hand side of the subject. I then feathered it across the scene to keep it off the background. The deeper shades and light angle sculptured the body nicely.
